Born in Rome in February 1957, he approached photography in 1973 with his first works which were dedicated to the world of children, before moving on to portraits and photographic books. He also worked for a long time in the medical photography sector. In 1976 he collaborated with the newspaper il Messaggero. In 1979 he opened a photographic studio for the Ritz hotel in Rome, dealing with fashion and advertising. They sell him work published on covers and fashion magazines. All this is not enough for Roberto, his curiosity and the need to elevate his communicative product through the design and creation of visual images remains latent in him. A long break follows due to misunderstandings and dissatisfaction that keep him away from photography. After 22 years, in 2003, he starts again with a renewed desire and a reinvigorated energy… A new adventure in the marvelous world of the imaginary through digital photographic ideas. He designs images, sometimes elaborating them, to reach meanings through apparently inadequate, satisfying the matured need to observe everyday life in an unusual and personalized way with which to reach the surreal and the impressionist, but with strongly material roots, therefore: “a new conscience of the image”. Today he expresses in his images all the desire to penetrate the matter of nature and architecture, to tell how beautiful there is around us. Roberto is paying particular attention to the architecture of Rome, of which he captures moments, lights, shadows and emotions that materialize in fascinating images that instill, in anyone who observes them, the feeling of being part of it. Clear result that Roberto’s work aspires to “author’s product”.
